Screens are vertical exterior sun blinds for windows, facades, and glass sections. The fabric runs from top to bottom and blocks solar heat before it reaches the glass. This keeps the interior cooler, while often still allowing you to see outside during the day. STERK helps you choose between manual, electric, solar, and zip screen versions based on your home.

When are screens a good choice?
Screens are a good choice if you want to reduce heat and harsh light without immediately installing roller shutters. They are suitable for living rooms, bedrooms, studies, and large windows. Because the fabric is on the outside, it is more effective than many internal sun blinds. During our home visit, we will determine which design suits your situation.
What do screens cost?
The price of screens depends on the dimensions, fabric type, operation, and installation. Those looking for a competitive solution can also consider cheap screens. At STERK, the foundation remains the same: honest advice, clear quotations, and installation by our own expert technicians.
What is the difference between screens and zip screens?
With zip screens, the fabric is zipped into the side guides, making it run more tautly. Regular screens are often fine for standard windows. If heat reduction and comfort are the main concerns, this solution also falls under screen awnings.
Can I operate screens electrically?
Yes, that's possible. For daily use, electric outdoor screens are very comfortable. If you prefer not to run cables, a solar-powered screen might be an interesting option. We'll clearly explain the differences and see what's technically feasible for your home.
Are your screens on the outside of the window?
Yes, screens are usually placed on the outside because they block the sun before the glass heats up. For windows where installation requires extra precision, we look at a window screen for the exterior. More broadly, these types of solutions fall under external screen sun protection.
Are screens suitable for a canopy?
