The choice of fabric determines how much light enters, how much outward visibility you maintain, and the appearance of the screen on the facade. When do you replace a screen fabric?
You replace a screen fabric when it is worn, discoloured, damaged, or no longer matches the look of your home. Sometimes the system itself is still fine. In that case, replacing the fabric is a smart solution. We always first check if the casing, guides, and operation are still good.
Will a new screen fabric fit in every screen?
Not always. It depends on the brand, size, cassette, guides, and bottom rail. Therefore, we assess existing screens on-site. For systems with zip guides, we specifically look at the design of zip screens, as the fabric runs differently in the guides in those cases.
Which fabric do I choose for sun protection?
For heat reflection and daylight, you often choose a fabric with an openness factor that suits the space. If you mainly want to block the sun, the fabric is similar to screen blinds. For wider outdoor applications, we also look at outdoor screen blinds.
Can a screen fabric be used in an electric or solar screen?
Yes, often. A new fabric can usually also be placed in electric outdoor screens or in solar-powered screens, as long as the casing, guides, and motor are in good condition. We check this beforehand so that the replacement continues to function properly.
Are there screens for windows and canopies?
Yes, but the application differs. For a window, we look for a suitable screen fabric with the correct size and guidance. For canopy screens, larger openings, wind, and attachment play a larger role.
Are there blackout screen fabrics?
Yes, there are fabrics that block more light than standard screen fabric. For bedrooms or rooms where you want less light, blackout screens are often more suitable. We will bring samples so you can assess the effect and color beforehand.
Is replacing the fabric cheaper than new screens?
Often yes, if the system is still technically sound. However, it remains custom work, as size, fabric type, and installation are determining factors. If you are looking for a competitive solution, also consider cheap screens, but first get an honest assessment of what is needed.

Yes. We assess your current screen, the condition of the fabric, and your wishes for light, color, and privacy on-site. Afterwards, we advise whether a new fabric is sufficient or if a completely new system would be more sensible. This way, you receive a tailored solution.
