Description

With the Sunteis io outdoor sensor, Somfy automatically takes comfort and energy savings to the next level, hassle-free. This subtle, white sensor measures both light and temperature and adjusts your blinds perfectly—in summer, it closes in bright sunlight to keep your interior cool, while in winter, it automatically lets in the heat. The sensor is fully solar-powered, so you don't need to replace batteries or run cables. Smart, reliable, and designed to function flawlessly for years, regardless of the weather—all integrated with the Somfy io-homecontrol network for seamless operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the screen react to temperature or light?

The sensor reacts to both temperature and light. To also use the temperature, you need a Tahoma Switch.

Will my screen open and close with every little cloud?

No, thankfully not. The sensor has a built-in delay to prevent unnecessary adjustments:

  • Sun appears: The sun must shine consistently above the set value for at least 2 minutes before the screen retracts.
  • Sun disappears: If a cloud passes in front of the sun, the sensor waits 15 to 30 minutes (this is adjustable) before the screen extends again. This way, the screen remains extended during changeable weather.
Where is the best place to mount the Sunis sensor?

The sensor is wireless and battery-powered, offering flexibility. We recommend:

  • On the facade, near the screen.
  • In a spot where the sun has unobstructed access (not under an overhang or behind a tree that casts shade).
  • Tip: Point the sensor towards where the sun comes from (usually south/southwest).
Can I turn off the sensor in winter?

Yes. In winter, you often do want to let in free solar heat to save on heating costs. Through the TaHoma app, you can pause the sun sensor's 'automatic mode' with a single slider. In spring, you can turn it back on.

What happens if I operate the screen manually?

If the sun sensor has opened the screen, you can always close it manually with the remote control or app (e.g., if you want to wash the windows).

  • Please note: The automatic sun program will then be temporarily interrupted. The system will resume the automatic thread later (depending on your settings in TaHoma).
How long do the batteries last?

This product has a built-in solar panel. This allows the product to charge itself. You don't have to replace the batteries.

My glass surface is very large. Do I need multiple sensors?

One Sunis sensor is usually sufficient for an entire facade. You can set up your TaHoma Switch so that multiple screens (for example, the folding arm awning and the screens on the 1st floor) respond to that one sensor. So you don't need to buy a separate sensor for each screen.
