Frequently asked questions about aluminum awnings
What are aluminum awnings?
Aluminium awnings are awnings with a strong, low-maintenance construction. They offer the classic look of an awning but with a modern choice of materials. This makes them suitable for customers who want character on their facade but with minimal maintenance.
What are the advantages of aluminum awnings?
Aluminium is dimensionally stable, strong, and requires less maintenance than some traditional materials. It combines well with various fabric and frame colours. This means an aluminium awning suits both a sleek modern home and a more classic facade.
Are aluminum awnings suitable for anthracite?
Yes, aluminum can often be beautifully finished in dark shades. This gives a calm and modern look, especially with dark frames or a light facade. If you specifically want this color, also check out anthracite awnings.
Can aluminum awnings be operated electrically?
In many cases, yes. The possibilities depend on size, model, and installation. Electric operation is especially convenient for larger awnings or daily use. Read more about electric awnings.
What do aluminum awnings cost?
The price depends on the size, design, operation, fabric, and installation. While aluminum may have a different initial cost than other materials, its low-maintenance properties often make it an attractive option. STERK will provide a clear quote after we have assessed the situation at your home.
Can aluminum awnings be custom made?
Yes, aluminum awnings can be customized to match the window, facade, model, and color. This customization is important for a neat proportion on the house. You can read more about assembling and measuring at custom-made awnings.
Are aluminum awnings suitable for larger windows?
Often yes, but the correct execution depends on width, mounting points, and wind load. For larger windows, we pay extra attention to sturdiness, operation, and facade proportion. Our technicians assess this in advance, ensuring the awning is not only beautiful but also operates safely.
Which aluminum awning model is the best fit?
That depends on the look you're going for. For a compact window solution, a canopy awning might be logical. If you want more dynamic shade, then a folding arm awning might be a better fit.
